Bright Hope For Tomorrow

God has made a promise, and that promise is the basis of all our hope, and that hope is this, in the end, we win!  I suppose that is actually an incorrect statement, because we need not wait for the end, for the victory that Jesus won is already given us; we have already won!  It matters little what happens here, we win, Jesus is coming, and when he comes, He will come as victor and judge and as the Lord of all.

I remember a story of a young shoe shine boy.  He was shining a well known preachers shoes one day.  And the boy had his Bible open, and the preacher took note of it and asked the boy, "Son, what are you reading there?"  The boy answered, "The Bible."  The conversation progressed like this:

Preacher: What are you reading in your Bible?

Boy: Revelation

Preacher: Really, Revelation huh?  That is very rigorous, do you understand it?

Boy: Yes-sir

Preacher: Oh son, what a presumptuous young man you are.  Do you not realize that scholars have been seeking to understand that book and there is much debate as to what it means, and you say you have it all figured out?

Boy:  I think it is simple sir.

Preacher: What then does it mean young man?

Boy:  WE WIN!

That boy humbled a haughty preacher, because he is exactly correct!  We win, that is what the book of Revelation means.  Our Bright Hope for Tomorrow is that Christ has secured a victory over every foe, every trial, every disappointment and every sin.

We win!
